Kanye West's speech at the MTV Video Music Awards 2015 on Sunday talked about the most important lesson that parents must teach to their children.

In his speech, which was posted on Washington Post, the 38-year-old rapper mentioned about the importance of self-esteem, which he said is a value that every parent must inculcate in each of their children.

 "I don't know what's going to happen tonight. I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow, bro," the artist, who received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award, said. "But all I can say to my artists, my fellow artists: Just worry how you feel at the time, man."

Kanye West continued his VMA 2015 speech by saying, "Just worry about how you feel and don't never - you know what I'm saying? I'm confident. I believe in myself."

The husband of Kim Kardashian also noted that a "new mentality" must be adopted among the youngsters.

"We the millennials, bro. This is a new mentality," he emphasized. "We not going to control our kids with brands."

"We're not going to teach low self-esteem and hate to our kids. We gonna teach our kids that they can be something," he added.

While harping on confidence, the 21-time Grammy award winner likewise mentioned about standing up for themselves.

"We're going to teach our kids that they can stand up for themselves.," he pointed out. "We're going to teach our kids to believe in themselves."

Meanwhile, CNN reported that after his declaration to run for president the 2020 elections, the official Twitter account of the Democratic Party made a statement.

"Last night @kanyewest declared his candidacy for president in 2020," it twitted. "Welcome to the race, Mr. West. Glad to have you."

In announcing his interest to run for the highest position in the land, Kanye West exclaimed this during his VMA 2015 speech, "And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president."
