Ne-Yo received a lot of flack on Twitter when news broke that he and his girlfriend Crystal Renay were engaged and expecting a baby. Many brought up his ex-fiancee and star of VH1's "Atlanta Exes" Monyetta Shaw's decision to get her tubes tied while they were together. New-Yo got on Twitter to clear the air.

According to TheYBF.com, Ne-Yo's ex and mother of his first two children, Monyetta, said on "Atlanta Exes" that she got her tubes tied while she was with Ne-Yo. He allegedly told her that he didn't want anymore kids, but not Monyetta regrets the decision because she can't have children with the next love of her life.

Ne-Yo reportedly received some backlash for impregnating Crystal Renay after allegedly convincing his previous fiancee to give up child-bearing.

He took to Twitter to explain the situation:

"Clearing the air.. I didn't force Mo to tie her tubes. Mutual decision. And the procedure is reversible. #SheCanHaveKids #FromTheHorsesMouth," he tweeted.

"Clearing the air..I'm aware I don't have to explain anything. I did it for my fans, my supporters. No BS and lies. #FromTheHorsesMouth," he added.

He also wrote: "Clearing the air..@mscrystalrenay and I are ENGAGED to be married next year. And yes we are expecting. #FromTheHorsesMouth"

Previous rumors claimed that the couple were already married.

Ne-Yo and Renay began dating in early 2014. This will be the couple's first child.
