Ellen DeGeneres Speculates Caitlyn Jenner Didn’t Dance With Her On Show Because ‘I’m A Lesbian’

Ellen DeGeneres doesn't understand Caitlyn Jenner's view on same-sex marriage. Caitlyn Jenner came on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" for an interview and Ellen DeGeneres questioned the Republican transgender woman on her views on gay marriage.

"A lot of Republicans - I don't want to speak for everyone - would vote against all the issues that you as a woman, and you, as a trans person, would want someone to support," said DeGeneres.

"I remember 15, 20 years ago when the whole gay marriage issue came up - at first I was not for it. I'm a traditionalist. I'm older than most people in the audience. I kind of like tradition, and it's always been a man and a woman. I'm thinking, 'I don't quite get it,'" Jenner, 65, told DeGeneres, Entertainment Weekly reported.

"I think, like a lot of people on this issue, I have really changed my thinking here to, 'I don't ever want to stand in front of anybody's happiness.' That's not my job, okay? If that word - marriage - is really, really that important to you, I can go with it."

Jenner eventually admitted she supported same-sex marriage, but in an interview Tuesday with Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show, DeGeneres didn't seem convinced of Caitlyn's views.

Stern asked if Jenner danced with her on her show, as many guests do.

DeGeneres said no, then suggested that Jenner might be homophobic, saying, "Maybe she didn't want to dance with me because I'm a lesbian."

"She still has a judgment about gay marriage," DeGeneres said.

The talk show host is married to actress Portia De Rossi.

This week, stars like Hillary Clinton, Amy Schumer, and Pink all danced on Ellen's show.

This isn't the first time Ellen has had strong words for those that didn't support same-sex marriage. In January, DeGeneres dedicated a segment of her show to Christian pastor Larry Tomczak, who accused her of "promoting a gay agenda" on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

"Larry, I don't even know what it means to celebrate my lesbianism. Well, I guess I do," she said in the segment, pulling a party-popper. "Yay! I'm gay."

"The only way I'm trying to influence people is to be more kind and compassionate with one another," she added. "That is the message I'm sending out. I don't have an agenda. I'm not here to brainwash anyone."
