David Cassidy, Partridge Family Star, Puts Home Up For Auction After Filing For Bankruptcy

Former teen idol David Cassidy put his home up for auction after a filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Cassidy filed for bankruptcy earlier this year listing assets and debts of up to $10 million, including $292,598 to Well Fargo, $21,952 to American Express and $17,150 to Citibank.

Cassidy, 65, bought the waterfront house in Fort Lauderdale for about $1.1 million in 2001. The Partridge Family star spent another $1 million in renovations over five years, refurbishing the 7,000 square-foot, five-bedroom home.

Cassidy installed heavy wood doors recovered from a razed Mexican church and put in stained pine floors to the pool and patio. Fisher Auction Co. said the auction price will include a lot of the furniture. Fischer Auction Company sold Gianni Versace's Miami beach mansion in 2013.

"Cassidy has been very accommodating throughout this process," Ryan Julison, representative for Fischer Auction Company, told FOX411.

The former Keith Partridge is also coming off the breakup of his third marriage and three arrests for drunken driving. Cassidy's wife filed for divorce after 23 years of marriage in 2013. Cassidy entered a court-ordered stay in rehab for alcohol after being charged for driving while intoxicated in 2014.

David Cassidy was the world's highest paid solo-live performer by age 21. David Cassidy's fan club was the most popular in the world, beating the Beatles, who he met, individually. Cassidy played Keith Partridge in the iconic seventies sitcom "The Partridge Family," where he played the eldest of five children of a widowed mother, who was played by Shirley Jones, Cassidy's real-life stepmother, who headed a band with his family.

After four seasons, the show was cancelled and Cassidy launched his own pop music career becoming one of pop music's most celebrated teen idols. David Cassidy's hits include "I Think I Love You," "How Can I Be Sure," "Cherish," and "Lyin' to Myself."

Cassidy played an aging former teen heartthrob in the 2009 ABC Family sitcom "Ruby & the Rockits." The show was canceled after one season. He also guest starred as an aging former teen heartthrob on the TV sitcom "Malcolm in the Middle." Cassidy was also a member of the "Celebrity Apprentice" reality TV show in 2011.
