Pokemon Gen 7 Foreshadowed During 'Pokemon Go' Announcement? Winter Beta Confirmed!

Following the announcement of "Pokken Tournament" for the Wii U and "Pokemon Go" for iOS and Android, the hopes of Gen 7 seems dimmer and dimmer for next year.

But maybe not quite. During the NicoNico live stream that confirmed "Pokemon Go" recently, fans noticed a graphic used to denote the franchise's 20-year-anniversary that shows there might be more to come in 2016.

"This is definitely the most exciting image of the whole event," commented ShinyXatu on PokeJungle.

"Is it me, or does it look like they're implying Gen 7 is coming next year? I got the impression that he's gearing us up for a new game announcement soon. That slide was absolutely unnecessary in this presentation, yet it was there and clear as ever. I feel like they may hint at a new game announcement for next month within this CoroCoro."

The first official trailer for "Pokemon Go" was released on The Official Pokemon Channel on Wednesday, and it is in collaboration with the company Niantic which will be released sometime in 2016.

As noted by the trailer and various publications, "Pokemon Go" augmented reality game to find, capture, and battle Pokemon in the real world. The game will feature a device called Pokemon Go Plus that connects via Bluetooth. While it is free-to-play, there will be in-app purchases.

In addition, Niantic has revealed that "Pokemon Go" will release a private closed beta this winter, with the official launch in early 2016 for the iOS and Android.

According to Serebii, no information has been given yet on how fans will be able to get into the beta, so stay tuned!
