Chris Brown Wins Custody Battle For Daughter; Judge Slams Nia Guzman’s Demands

Chris Brown won the custody battle for his daughter, one-year-old Royalty. The development was reported by TMZ, which reported how the judge slammed almost all the demands of the child's mother, Nia Guzman.

The decision to give Chris Brown joint custody of his daughter was given in a Houston court on Friday morning. The "Loyal" singer was represented by his attorney, Mark Geragos, for the custody hearing.

The custodial arrangement favored the R&B star as Nia Guzman previously allowed him to see Royalty during supervised visits. According to the ruling, the child will reportedly go back and forth every four days between Chris Brown and the former music video starlet.

Both live in Los Angeles, making the co-parenting arrangement a lot more doable.

The development on the paternity case of Chris Brown for his daughter was also reported by Hollywood Life. According to the site, aside from joint custody, the singer was also allowed to pay only $2,500 per month representing child support.

The amount is below what Nia Guzman wanted as she previously demanded the Grammy-winning recording artist for $15,000 in monthly child support.

An insider also revealed how the judge's decisions all favored Chris Brown, who has been openly taking care of his daughter since he discovered her early this year.

"Paternity has been adjudicated. Chris is Royalty's father," an insider said about the ruling.

The mother of Royalty was also ordered by the court to not speak about the case, specifically on social media. The rule came amid Chris Brown and Nia Guzman's highly publicized social media clashes.

Us Weekly  previously reported about how the outspoken singer accused the former model of using their daughter for money.

"Some men my age run from their responsibility as fathers. I embrace mine," Chris Brown tweeted. "Just sucks that some females use children as meal tickets."

"Using a child as leverage is never ok. The highest praise to the men who actually want their kids," he added.

In a report from BET, Nia Guzman issued an official statement to slam Chris Brown's accusations.

"The allegations that have been made against Nia Guzman are completely false," she said in a statement issued through a legal rep.

"Nia is not trying to obtain fame or additional money from Chris Brown other than the child support that is expected for the raising of their child."

"She asks that the press and general public would stop hurling false accusations at her and her daughter," the statement read.
