The director of last year's "John Wick" have confirmed actor Keanu Reeves in "John Wick 2."

Speaking with Movies, directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch gave an updated on the sequel of one of last year's best action films.

"We're in development right now," said Stahelski. "We have ideas for days and without blinking twice we know we can outdo the action from the original."

Although they didn't reveal any details about the follow-up, Stahelski did mention, "If we could work with Keanu Reeves for 10 more movies you'd have a really cool career."

They also touched on the challenges of making a sequel, revealing that the most difficult part of it "isn't coming up with more action, but keeping the character relatable."

"We have ideas for days and without blinking twice we know we can outdo the action from the original. It's the matter of story and how much you like the character. That's always the most important."

"You gotta go on a journey with the guy and have to like the guy," Leitch said.

Lionsgate executive Jason Constantine has released a statement regarding Keanu Reeves' "John Wick 2."

"With such tremendous fan and critical support for 'John Wick,' we knew that there was still so much more of this story to tell," Constantine said in a statement published by The Wrap. "We are thrilled that Keanu, David and Chad have re-teamed with us and promise to bring audiences even more excitement the second time around."

The original film's story follows John Wick, a former assassin who comes out of retirement to seek revenge when his former employers beat him up, steal his car and kill his dog which was a present from his late wife.

2014's surprise box office hit "John Wick" earned "$14.1 million on its opening weekend and eventually made $43 million domestically and nearly $80 million worldwide."

Keanu Reeves' "John Wick 2" has no confirmed release date yet.
