Ahmed Mohamed's White House Invitation Slammed! School Sides With Teacher Amid Scandal?

Ahmed Mohamed will be visiting the White House very soon. The high schooler recently became the center of attention after he was arrested for making his own clock and bringing it to school.

As reported by People, the ninth grader will have the chance to meet President Barack Obama next month.

"We are hopeful that Ahmed will feel right at home here," Press Secretary Josh Earnest said about the invitation."

Obama himself has tweeted an invite to the teen.

"Cool clock, Ahmed," he wrote. "Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great."

Not everyone though was happy about the Ahmed Mohamed's White House invitation. As reported by Huffington Post, Bristol Palin criticized Obama on the matter.

"This is the kind of stuff Obama needs to STAY out of," Palin explained on her blog. "This encourages more racial strife that is already going on with the 'Black Lives Matter' crowd and encourages victimhood."

"The police made a mistake, clearly," she added. "But why put more people against them? Why egg it on?  Childish games like this from our president have divided our country...  even more today than when he was elected."

A Georgia teen also had some choice words for President Obama.

"When cops are gunned down, you don't invite them to the White House," he said as quoted by 10 News. "You never did. But when a Muslim builds a clock, come on by. What is this world you're living in?"

The charges against Mohamed have been dropped and the police has insisted that his race did not have anything to do with the issue as reported by The Texas Tribune. At the moment, Mohamed was already thinking of changing schools after the experience. MacArthur High School officials has said that he's still welcome to come back. But they also stand behind the teacher who reported the clock.

"We do stand behind what the teacher did," MacArthur High School communications director Lesley Weaver told ABC News. "We believe she was acting in the best interest for the safety of all 2,800 students at MacArthur High School. She followed the correct procedures."

After his traumatizing experiencing, Mohamed plans to continue to achieve his dream. He has been invited and encouraged by several companies and personalities to continue reaching for his dream including Mark Zuckerberg, Twitter, Google, NASA and his school goal, MIT.

Ahmed Mohamed was also excited to visit the White House soon, according to CNN.
