Lady Gaga's new song "Till it Happens to You" seems to be about her own rape experience as the pop star previously admitted that she was sexually assaulted.

According to Billboard, song-writing legend Diane Warren collaborated with Lady Gaga for "Till it Happens to You." The track is featured in a documentary about college campus rape entitled "The Hunting Ground."

The song's graphic music video showed shocking rape incidents that reportedly take place inside college campuses. It also highlighted the effects and different coping mechanisms of sexual assault victims.

Lady Gaga tweeted about the new song and music video, which she said was made for "people all over the world who suffer from painful life experiences."

"We hope you feel our love and solidarity through the song and perhaps find some peace in knowing you are not alone through this film #TilItHappensToYou," the Grammy winner tweeted.

Lady Gaga's release of "Till it Happens to You" came months after the controversial recording artist revealed that she herself was raped as a teen.

According to a report from Cosmopolitan, the singer-songwriter was only 19 and "was very naïve" when the sexual assault took place.

"I went to Catholic school and then all this crazy stuff happened, and I was going, 'Oh, is this just the way adults are?'" Lady Gaga narrated in an interview with Howard Stern.

"I don't know what I was thinking. I didn't tell anybody. And I didn't even tell myself for the longest time."

The pop diva also revealed that her rapist was 20 years older than her.

Lady Gaga even said that she did not confront him after the incident.

"I think it would terrify me," she said. "It would paralize me."

"I saw him one time in a store and I was so paralized by fear. Because it wasn't until I was a little bit older that I went, 'Wow, that was really messed up.'"
