Amanda Bynes Turns 27: Industry Hopes She Comes Back To Biz

Amanda Bynes who has been in the news more for her behavior than her projects, turns 27-years-old today. The former teenage star has been compared at one point to Lucille Ball and her top-notch comedic skills. And although the entertainment press is able to fill up its columns and news spaces with her eccentric stunts the past few months, especially her tweets, it still hopes to see the Amanda Bynes that made the world smile, back when she was a Nickelodeon darling.

Yahoo’s OMG news, cites several reasons why they hope that the former actress should get back to return to her former glorious self.

One of industry-stated rationale for her return is the fact that she has "discovered" Channing Tatum. Tatum, a former male stripper turned male fashion model, soon became a film heartthrob after appearing in his first major role as the hottie soccer player in Bynes’ “She’s The Man.” Since then, Tatum and his six-pack abs has gained widespread attention and was since dubbed the “Sexiest Man Alive.”

Another skill Bynes’ possesses is her amazing comedic timing. OMG said that the star is an ace at delivering punch lines, which is reason for why she has become a rising star in the network that hired her for TV shows. She immediately reigned over Disney teen queens, Hillary Duff and Lindsay Lohan, for having something that both did not: a funny bone.

Not only can Amanda Bynes act and be funny, but she can also carry a tune and bust a move. A triple threat, as they call it. From day one since Bynes has been on the spotlight, she has single-handedly delivered laughs for four years on her live-action comedy and variety show, “The Amanda Show.” And she did it at the age of 14. She later showed off her graceful moves and beautiful voice in her role as Penny Pingleton in “Hairspray’ which also starred High School Musical star, Zac Efron.

Bynes not only has been a great TV star but also an accomplished film actress, particularly in the chic-flick segment. From “What a Girl Wants” to “Sydney White”, Bynes has proven that her humorous TV self is versatile enough to nail an inspiring and giggle-worthy film role.

Amanda Bynes’ life may seem like a comedy sketch gone bad, but still many in the industry is hoping that she can regain her footing and deliver good comedy on TV, instead of living a bad one in the real world.
