It seemed like it would be divide and conquer for Leighton Meester and Adam Brody as they await the birth of their first baby. In an interview prior to being spotted pregnant back in May, the former "Gossip Girl" actress opened up about her plans as her husband continues to focus on doing movies.

"It's going really good," she told Idolator then. "Life is good. I'm just spending the day at home. I've got errands, and - I don't know - life."

"Right now I'm making plans to do more shows and mostly hanging at home," she also said then. "I've done a ton of traveling in the last year/year-and-a-half which is great, but sometimes it's nice to just chill. So spending a lot of time with friends and family. Besides that, I don't really know."

Given the chance though, the former "Gossip Girl" star said she would also love to get back to Broadway as well as do music. It was not clear if she has plans of going back to TV and movies.

"When I was doing the tour, I really was like, 'Man, if I could just do music - the whole process over again and again for the rest of my life, tour, make music and turn around and do plays that somehow can capture that same experience - I would be a very happy woman!'" she shared.

"[Acting on Broadway] was such a magical time and the most challenging," she also shared.

Leighton Meester's husband and baby daddy Adam Brody, on the other hand, has been busy with movies. More than a week ago, he was spotted in public after quite some time for the premiere of "Sleeping With Other People" as reported by Reveal UK.

Brody has also been cast in the new CHiPS movie with real-life couple Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell as told by Digital Spy UK.

Leighton Meester surprised everyone when she appeared in public back in May very pregnant as reported by Pop Sugar. In July, she looked ready to give birth to her first baby with Adam Brody as cited by E! Online. The couple has yet to directly address their first pregnancy or when the actress will be giving birth.
