Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor’s Mansion, Hers For Life: L.A. Judge Approves Deferred Transaction For Property Sale

Zsa Zsa Gabor’s mansion will remain Zsa Zsa Gabor’s mansion for the remainder of her life. The 96-year-old actress, cash-strapped and in need, will be allowed to stay in her Bel-Air mansion until she dies.

Her husband reached a deal on Friday that will allow the couple to live on the property.

A Los Angeles judge ruled that Gabor’s ninth husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, can sell the four-bedroom, five bathroom mansion in a deferred transaction.

Under the agreed upon terms of the deal, the buyer will allow Gabor and von Anhalt to live in the home for at least three more years, or until the actress passes away, and pay them a total of $325,000 a year. Gabor’s publicist, John Blanchette disclosed the details to Reuters.

The Hungarian-born star of 1950s films “Moulin Rouge” and “Lili,” has been in and out of the hospital since she broke her hip in 2010 and had her leg amputated in 2011.

Von Anhalt put up the house for sale asking for a price of $15 million in 2011. He cited financial difficulties and Gabor’s medical bills as reason for the sale.

Von Anhalt told reporters after Friday’s court hearing that, “This decision is going to make her very happy. Hopefully she will be with us for more than three years. Her mother lived to be 102.”

Gabor’s hillside home in Bel-Air is located in one of the most exclusive areas in Los Angeles. The grounds were used to film scenes for Ben Affleck’s Academy Award-winning movie, “Argo.” It was also used as a location for an upcoming HBO film on the life of late entertainer Liberace.

Blanchette said that Gabor remains bedridden but is in better health compared to her previous years. She had enjoyed a 96th birthday party at the house which was attended by more than 100 friends.
