The Liam Hemsworth Maika Monroe dating rumors were circulating once again. A new report revealed that the Australian actor's family apparently approved of his "Independence Day: Resurgence" co-star just as new rumors said he and Jennifer Lawrence were getting closer.

As reported by OK! magazine, the professional kiteboarder got the Hemsworth family's approval.

"The Hemsworth family have been desperate for Liam to find love again," the source said. "After Miley, he really did turn into a bit of a dating hermit."

The report also revealed that it was Liam's older brother Chris Hemsworth, who was rooting for "Independence Day: Resurgence" co-star Monroe. The "Thor" actor has apparently been building the professional kiteboard to their family.

"Chris has informed his curious parents that she's a winner and she's showing him how to smile again," the actor added. "Everyone's very excited about this romance, but no one more than Liam and Maika. They're falling madly in love!"

The new Liam Hemsworth Maika Monroe reports circulated just as rumors have been building that the Australian actor might be getting closer with "Mockingkjay" co-star Jennifer Lawrence.

"Lots of people were convinced they would wind up together, and they still could," an OK! source was quoted in saying by Hollywood Life. "Jen has been calling Liam all the time, especially at night."

Neither Lawrence nor Hemsworth addressed the gossip. During MTV's Camp Mockingjay interview though, the actress did admit that she was single at the moment. She also admitted to Entertainment Weekly, that she values Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson's friendship.

"If we had met each other in any different circumstance, we would still be best friends," she insisted. "And our love is as close to unconditional as it gets because there's no fear between us because we love each other so much. There's no fear in our love."

Liam Hemsworth and Maika Monroe, meanwhile, have not spoken as well about the dating rumors linking them since July. Their movie "Independence Day: Resurgence" comes out next year.
