Robert Smith and the rest of The Cure is expected to release a new album soon and that it would be a follow up to their 2008 release "4:13 Dreams."

In an NME report, Smith revealed how their former record label denied them from releasing a double record, which got a lot of songs excluded in their release.

"Honestly? Just pure bloody mindedness," Smith explained. "I was so f*cking angry that [the label] wouldn't release a double album that I wouldn't give them the other songs."

Out of frustration, the singer is thinking about including the unreleased tracks to be part of a new The Cure album, which could potentially come out next year.

In the same interview, however, he claimed how they could include new songs as well mixing it with what the band already has.

"There's new stuff that we're doing with this line-up and stuff we finished with the old line up," Smith said.

"A lot of stuff happened, unfortunately, with the last line-up of the band. People forget sometimes that even when you get older, when you play music with people, there's a very intense relationship there and when that breaks down then it's very difficult to just pretend it doesn't matter."

Smith is also thrilled to have a new line-up for the potential release of the new The Cure album, while they work on the mix of old and new materials.

"The last line-up, there were a number of reasons why I felt unable to complete what we were doing," he said. "It was impossible to just get another line-up and bang out the songs we didn't release; it would have been wrong."

Although there are no official words regarding the release of a new album from The Cure, fans speculate that the band may start working on their release next year and release it in the latter part of 2016.
