'One Punch Man' Anime Blu-ray/DVD Special Edition To Include OVA

Everyone is feeling the excitement over the official premiere of the "One Punch Man" anime, and the surprises just keep on coming.

That is to say, the hype train is not stopping.

According to reports, the "One Punch Man" anime is getting a limited edition Blu-ray/DVD release that includes the previously announced OVA. The ten minute OVA entitled "A Shadow that Snuck Up Too Close." The special edition Blu-ray/DVD will be released in Japan on Dec. 24.

Anime News Network reports that the special edition "One Punch Man" Blu-ray will include two episodes, footages from the advance event screening cast talk, a clear poster, and a priority sales application ticket for an event scheduled for September 2016.

The "One Punch Man" OVA to be included is written by the series' original creator ONE. A separate OVA is scheduled to be included with manga volume 10. That OVA will be released on Dec. 4.

For those who are not familiar with the manga series, "One Punch Man" was originally created by ONE on the web and then adapted for print by Yuusuke Murata. Anime News Network reports that the series recently surpassed the 4 million mark last November.

Viz Media, who will stream the "One Punch Man" anime outside of Japan in October, describes the series as follows:

"In this new action-comedy, everything about a young man named Saitama screams 'AVERAGE', from his lifeless expression, to his bald head, to his unimpressive physique. However, this average-looking fellow doesn't have your average problem... He's actually a superhero that's looking for tough opponents!"

It goes on:

"The problem is, every time he finds a promising candidate he beats the snot out of them in one punch. Can Saitama finally find an evil villain strong enough to challenge him? Follow Saitama through his hilarious romps as he searches for new bad guys to challenge!"
