Latest NASA Discovery Fuels Interest In News About Aliens; Life On Mars A Real Possibility?

The discovery of mysterious star system has been keeping NASA on its toes lately and generating interest in news that aliens might exist.

In fact, the space agency is now using its Allen Telescope Array (ATA) to search for signals which could potentially be coming KIC 8462852, a star that is about 1,500 light-years from Earth, according to Space.com.

NASA has ramped up its search for alien life after its Kepler space telescope observed the star's odd and dramatic dimming over the past few years.

The agency has noted that KIC 8462852's dimming could not have been possibly caused by a an enormous dust cloud or a planet passing in front of the star.

Although scientists have likewise theorized that a stream of comments could be careening towards the star, and thereby causing its substantial dimming.

However, NASA said that there is also a possibility that that the strange signals received by the space telescope could be coming from a "megastructure," which has fueled excitement in news that aliens could exist.

"We are looking at it with the Allen Telescope Array," Seth Shostak said, a senior astronomer at the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Institute in Mountain View, California.

"No problem with that; I think we ought to, for sure," Shostak told Space.com, but adding that people "should perhaps moderate their enthusiasm with the lessons of history."

Shostak cited the discovery of pulsars, fast-spinning, super dense stellar corpses that emit beams of high-energy radiation, which were interpreted then by scientists in the 1960s as possible alien transmissions.

In the meantime, recent photographs taken by the Curiosity rover show hieroglyphic-like carvings on a rock's surface, which could be strong proof that alien life once existed on Mars, reported the Express.

However, skeptics point out that the writings could just be textures on the rocks, explaining that people are sometimes afflicted by pareidolia, a phenomenon that causes the brain to interpret what the eye sees in patterns and textures as familiar things.

This was the belief shared by a viewer after seeing the images on YouTube, as he commented on the website UFOsightings, "If you zoom in on the original you can see the small boxes that appear to be pixels that make up the photograph."

"It appears to be those boxes that are outlined in this picture to make it appear like writing," he added.

The rock "writing" is the latest in a series of anomalies that UFO hunters claim to have discovered in pictures released by NASA, which have strengthened the belief in the existence of aliens.
