'Five Nights At Freddy's 4' Creator Scott Cawthon Reveals Toy Freddy Is A 'Reclusive And Private Animatronic'

Given that the "Five Nights at Freddy's" franchise is coming to an end, it only seems right that creator Scott Cawthon has become more transparent about all of his ideas about his beloved animatronics.

Except the puppet, because nope, nope, nope.

Earlier today, Scott Cawthon responded to a thread on the official "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" steam page regarding the mysterious Toy Freddy. Specifically, Cawthon explained that his personality is very different than what fans had proclaimed and that he's actually a "reclusive and private animatronic."

The thread in question was a plea to understand why Toy Freddy appears to have received the least attention in comparison to all the animatronics.

"Why Scott why do you hate Toy Freddy and give him nothing ever? Even in keychain merchandise, every animatronic was there from 'FNAF 1' and '2' except Toy Freddy. The guy doesn't even get merchandise," said Patwhi01.

Cawthon replied to the complaint about Toy Freddy with an explanation that has to do with Toy Freddy's nature as a character.

"You people don't UNDERSTAND Toy Freddy. He's a very reclusive and private animatronic. He spends his evenings curled up reading a good book. He doesn't like the limelight. So please be respectful of Toy Freddy. He's retired," said Cawthon.

While it's not exactly certain why Toy Freddy is a recluse in comparison to other Toy animatronics (perhaps he's worn out from walking around at night when he's supposed to be shut down), it's probably safe to say that there won't be a Toy Freddy in the upcoming "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" DLC.

Other animatronics that have been confirmed for the upcoming Halloween release are Balloon Boy, the Puppet, and most recently, Nightmare Mangle have all been featured in separate teasers on Cawthon's official website.

Though Toy Freddy may not soon make any appearances, "Five Nights at Freddy's World" has been confirmed to contain all the animatronics from the series. If you're really missing the plastic, happy Freddy, then you'll only have to wait for the RPG to see him again.
