Winds of Winter Release Date: George R.R. Martin May Not Get The Next ‘Songs Of Ice And Fire’ Book Ready Fast Enough; Game Of Thrones Season 6 Rumored To Be Delayed

Winds of Winter Release Date: There are all sorts of contradictory rumors going on with George R. R. Martin's next installment of the "Songs of Fire And Ice" books, which form the basis for HBO's "Game of Thrones.

Some rumors say George R. R. Martin finished "Winds of Winter" and some translator in Poland is already working on it. Other reports say HBO might have to delay Game of Thrones season 6 because the source material just isn't there yet.

Game of Thrones fans are scared that Season 6 may return later than expected after HBO's latest scheduling announcement. Martin Scorsese series Vinyl is scheduled to debut on February 14 and run to April 17 in Game of Thrones time slot of 9pm on Sundays. Past Game of Thrones seasons started in early to mid April.

Martin, meanwhile, is set to appear in the Syfy Channel's "Z Nation" because of his book "A Promise of Spring," according to Parent Herald.

"And while I will be travelling, my army of minions will be here at the old homestead, toiling in the paper mines," Martin wrote to his blog.

Parent Herald previously reported that Polish translator Michael Jakuszewski is clearing his schedule to translate the Winds of Winter book before this year ends. Alejo Cuervo, the editor of Spanish publication Ediciones Gigamesh, told a radio station that the Winds of Winter release date will be in 2016.

According to newseveryday, Martin hinted that "Winds of Winter is not yet done and that he was working on a werewolf book called "The Skin Trade" for Cinemax, which he passed off Kalinda Vazquez for the screenplay so he could, ostensibly, beat Game of Thrones to the finish line.

"Cinemax and my agents set me up for meetings with close to a dozen different TV writers, many of them very impressive, but Kalinda's take on the story and the characters blew me away," wrote to his blog," according to newseveryday.

"She loves the story and the world, and really seems to get Willie and Randi, and her pitch to Cinemax was one of the most polished and professional I've ever heard. I love her enthusiasm, and look forward to working with her. And no, while I would have loved to write the script and run the show myself myself, that was never really in the cards. I have this book to finish. You know the one."

Martin also teased some twists

"This is going to drive your readers crazy," Martin told Entertainment Weekly, "but I love it. I'm still weighing whether to go that direction or not. It's a great twist. It's easy to do things that are shocking or unexpected, but they have to grow out of characters. They have to grow out of situations. Otherwise, it's just being shocking for being shocking. But this is something that seems very organic and natural, and I could see how it would happen. And with the various three, four characters involved... it all makes sense. But it's nothing I've ever thought of before. And it's nothing they can do in the show, because the show has already-on this particular character-made a couple decisions that will preclude it, where in my case I have not made those decisions."

EW also broke that Martin is also developing a new series called Captain Cosmos for HBO.
