FTIsland Frontman Lee Hong Ki Makes Promise To Fans He'll Quit Smoking

In honor of FTIsland lead singer Lee Hong Ki's successful solo debut, the idol has made a very significant promise to his fans.

On Nov. 18, Lee Hong Ki released his first album FM302 along with the music video for "Insensible." Upon release the highly anticipated album became the most popular online search term that day.

At his showcase, broadcasted via Naver's livestreaming V App, Lee Hong Ki mentioned the success of his album and made a promise to his fans as a result. "Yesterday I said if I took the first place stop I would quit smoking, but I meant that in real time at that moment," he joked according to OSEN. After the fans in attendance protested Hong Ki's statement he continued, "Tomorrow I'll try to quit smoking for real. It'll be difficult, but I'll do my best."

Fans met his promise with excited cheers, showing their support for the singer-actor to kick his bad habit. Hong Ki finished his promise with another joke saying, "If you see my hands shaking on television you will know it's a withdrawal symptom."

FM302 marks Hong Ki's first solo work since his debut with the Korean idol band FTIsland nine years ago. His music video not only features his beautiful vocals as he sings as a man who cannot forget an ex-lover but also stars his longtime friend, actress Park Shin Hye.
