102 Bottles Of Nail Polish Found On Man Caught Trying To Steal Them From CVS

102 bottles of nail polish were found concealed in a man's sweatshirt and pants at a Connecticut CVS.  On Thursday night, a Middletown, CT man was arrested for attempting to shoplift 102 bottles of nail polish from a local CVS, local police said.

According to the police report, Marco Gonzalez, 42, went into the store Thursday evening and stuffed 102 bottles of nail polish into his sweatshirt and pants. Middletown police confronted him around 9 p.m.

The arresting officer said that Gonzalez "said that he did not plan on paying for the nail polish." CVS's loss prevention officer gave a sworn statement that said Gonzalez walked into the nail polish aisle "and started selecting and concealing Essie and Sally Hansen brand nail polishes into his sweatshirt."

The 102 nail polish bottles cost about $8.49 each. Altogether, the nail polish added up to $865.98  of potentially lost merchandise.  

Gonzalez was taken to police headquarters and charged with 5th-degree larceny. He has been released on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 1.
