"Unpretty Rapstar" appears to be launching another contestant's solo career.

The youngest member of K-pop girl group Fiestar, Yezi (Lee Ye Ji), has announced that following her appearance as a contestant on the Mnet rap competition program, she will be releasing her first official solo single.

On Nov. 23, multiple industry insiders told Star News that Yezi would be releasing a single in December, nearly three years after she debuted with Fiestar. Currently, the song is expected to be released as a digital single. 

Through the rap battle show, Yezi's stage performance and raps have been well received by viewers, improving her reputation and making Fiestar more widely known. 

After her solo debut, Yezi is expected to return to group activities with Fiestar and work on their next album.
