Dave Mustaine Reveals Details About New Megadeth Album! Record Expected In January

Megadeth is brewing up for a new album release and frontman Dave Mustaine has some surprises for their fans.

According to an article posted by Revolver, the new album from Megadeth is expected to be released in January and that he has a few surprises for their listeners.

According to the report, the singer revealed how he plans to bring back the signature thrash sound that fans were accustomed to hear on their first release.

"There's a lot of riffing going on in there, that's for damn sure," he said. "There's a lot of solos, a lot of pounding drums and bass. I knew from the start that I wanted to go back to my roots, and I wanted to make a thrash record."

He noted how some fans wanted the new sound the band has but believes he has to "come back to their roots" for the new Megadeth album.

"Over the years we've always said, 'We're going back to our roots,'" he said. "But the naysayers, they just want 'Rust In Peace' 20 times, which is never gonna happen."

"Because I've never written the same song twice. Unlike a lot of other rock and metal bands that, you know, they rely on a set formula, I try and make the songs all different."

Meanwhile, Loud Wire noted how the new lineup of the band could potentially bring back the original sound Mustaine wanted for the new album of Megadeth.

He noted how he has Angra guitarist Kiko Loureiro and Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler replace former members Chris Broderick and Shawn Drover.

"My expectations are so incredibly high that I don't know that we'll ever have one of those shows, but as far as did it make me happy?" Mustaine said, as they work on the new Megadeth album. "I was completely chuffed."

"In no way is this meant to be offensive to Shawn or Chris, but we've definitely upgraded talent wise, personality wise, friendship wise."
