A Western adaptation of the Japanese title is going to be released a couple of years from now, but that doesn't stop the loyal fans from looking forward to releases related to the "Ghost In The Shell" franchise.

Along with the latest developments in technology, the "Ghost In The Shell" VR experience is being worked on in order to give fans an opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the futuristic world.

According to Kotaku, the "Ghost In The Shell" VR Experience was previewed at the Tokyo Game Show this year. Not many people know about this since there was no footage that made it to the Internet, so only those present at the event were able to preview its graphics and interactive features.

A video on Youtube was uploaded previewing how the VR experience would more or less be like. The video also has a 3D feature, very much like how the real VR experience would be like, so that the dynamic features of the game include the viewer in on all the action.

The video is also fully interactive. You can click on the arrow buttons on the top-left corner to get a different perspective on what is happening, it is the closest thing to a VR Experience.

The "Ghost In the Shell" VR Experience is being designed to suit smartphone VR goggles such as Samsung's Gear and Google Cardboard. There is no official release details announced but it will most likely be out in the first quarter of 2016.

"Ghost In The Shell" is a popular Japanese franchise that originally began as manga series and later became an animated series and a film. It is set in the mid-21st century, in a post cyber-punk world in the distant future where computer technology has advanced to the point where many members of society infuse technology into their bodies. Those that get cybernetic parts, rather become part machine, are called cyborgs.

The main character of the franchise is Major Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg, who is on a mission to find a mysterious unnamed hacker known as the "Puppet Master." This villain has the ability to hack at a very high level and could put the computer and technology dependent society into chaos.
