‘The Vampire Diaries' Kills Off Ian Somerhalder As Nina Dobrev Latest Return News Fizzles?

Ian Somerhalder may be following Nina Dobrev's lead and purportedly leaving "The Vampire Diaries" as well. According to the latest news and rumors, the Damon Salvatore actor may be getting killed off from the TV series.

As reported by Toxcy and Australia News Network, the latest episode of the TV series showed Somerhalder's character in a future scene chained up on a chair with werewolf venom in them. According to MTV, the trap was set up by his mother, Lily Salvatore.

"You're not the fly I was hoping to catch," the Lily Salvatore character said as cited by MTV.

"Mom, it's been a long time," the Damon Salvatore actor replied just before passing out.

It was not clear though if Damon Salvatore will die in the future after the "Mommie Dearest" episode last week. But according to the Entertainment Weekly latest news, although fans of "The Vampire Diaries" may be missing Nina Dobrev, they won't be missing Ian Somerhalder soon.

According to the report, "when the show returns, we won't only be getting a Damon Civil War flashback, but we'll be getting a lot of Damon just in general." It was even mentioned that the character will be "in nearly every scene."

While the cast of the TV series won't have to worry about another character dying anytime soon, rumor has it some of them were worried of a possible final season for the show after the series was moved to a new time slot.

As told in Celeb Dirty Laundry, Ian Somerhalder may be "in panic" these days as after Nina Dobrev's exit from "The Vampire Diaries," the series allegedly dropped its ratings. Latest news has it as well though that not all TV shows that get a time slot change do end up getting cancelled.

As reported by E! Online, the vampire-werewolf series will be aired at 8 in the evening every Friday starting January 29.
