After leaving Stone Temple Pilots, Chester Bennington revealed that he has his focus completely on Linkin Park for now, as the band is reportedly preparing for a new album.

According to a post by Empty Lighthouse Magazine, Mike Shinoda talked about the band's pace with regard to recording and writing new songs.

He revealed how they're enjoying the tour and how they expect to release a new Linkin Park album sometime in 2016.

"All of the shows that we've been doing have been really really fun," Shinoda said. "This is our last tour on this cycle and then we'll get back and get focused on the next Linkin Park record. And we're looking a next year sometime."

Meanwhile, amidst the new album report from Linkin Park, Chester Bennington recently talked to Rolling Stone about his exit from Stone Temple Pilots even before Scott Weiland passed away, leaving the band without a vocalist.

Bennington is now fully focused on LP and has all the time to concentrate for the record.

"The last few years have been an amazing experience," Bennington said. "I got to create and perform with one of the greatest rock bands of our generation, that had so much influence on me growing up. With the amount of time STP deserves, in addition to being in Linkin Park, and with the needs of my family, one of them always seems to fall short."

"And in all fairness to my bandmates in Linkin Park, as well as to myself and to my family, I'm going to focus solely on Linkin Park so I can contribute 100 percent. It's been an amazing experience and a dream come true, and I look forward to the future of both STP and Linkin Park."

Although there are no official words as of now, Linkin Park is expected to come up with their new album by next year.
