Naughty Dog To Work On ‘The Last Of Us 2’ Release Date In 2016, Studio Working On ‘Uncharted’

"The Last Of Us 2" is reportedly expected to happen in the near future as its release date is expected to happen once Naughty Dog is done with their current project - "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" - which is expected to come out in March 2016.

Although there haven't been any confirmations from the studio about the game, voice actor Nolan North hinted about the game's fate after he went on a panel at this year's Metro Con, as reported by Game Rant.

While he was talking about his future endeavors including "Uncharted 4," he revealed how he knew about the sequel of the post-apocalyptic game.

"I know they're doing a 'Last of Us 2,'" North said.

Meanwhile, speculations from other sources reveal the possibility of Joel being killed off and would have Ellie on her own on a new journey.

Movie Pilot revealed in one of their reports the potential situations could happen that could point out to the death of Joel in "The Last Of Us 2," stating that Ellie could be on her own in the next release date.

"If the sequel features the same characters and the same setting, most of us, if not all, don't want Joel to return," the report stated.

"Imagine an emotional scene where Joel dies in Ellie's arms, trying to save her from the Infected, maybe trying to kill a stage 5 Infected which got removed from the first game. After that, Ellie is all on her own, fighting for her survival. The game could feature many emotional scenes of Ellie remembering Joel."

There are no official words from Naughty Dog regarding the release date of "The Last Of Us 2" game but rumors and speculations from multiple sources suggest that the game could come out in 2016 or 2017, while the company is still working on the upcoming game, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," which is expected to come out on March 2016.
