WINNER Plan Large-Scale Comeback With Triple Music Video Release And New EP

WINNER are planning a massive comeback in 2016 by releasing three music videos for their upcoming EP, to be released on Feb. 1.

According to a statement made by a high-level representative at YG Entertainment on Jan. 16, the group is still working on both the music videos and the album. "WINNER are currently filming three music videos," he said. "The mini-album will contain four to five songs, with over half the tracks having their own music video."

"This means that WINNER are putting their all into their comeback," the representative continued.

Another insider at YG Entertainment told Korean media outlet OSEN, "WINNER won lots of rookie awards last year, and to make up for the time the group was on hiatus, we have prepared for their comeback with all our energy."

The insider also revealed how YG would tease the group's comeback. "Starting next week, we will begin releasing teasers until the album release on Feb. 1."

On Jan. 11, members Song Mino and Nam Taehyun gave fans a taste of their upcoming album with a pre-release "entry single" titled "Pricked," which they wrote and composed themselves.

This is the first time WINNER will unveil three music videos at once. Hopefully the triple release will satisfy fans, who have waited nearly a year and a half for the group to comeback.

For most music releases, only the title song has a music video. However, this will not be the case for WINNER. Music videos make up a large percentage of album production costs, but YG Entertainment chief Yang Hyun Suk is no stranger to multiple-music video releases. In 2015, WINNER's labelmates Big Bang released a total of eight music videos from May to August.
