Behind The Scenes: How K-Pop Music Videos Are Made

By Samantha Marie Lifson | February 11, 2016 01:31 PM EST

Have you ever wondered about what it takes to make some of your favorite K-pop music videos?

YouTube personalities BapMokja and Haeppy teamed up with production team ZANYBROS to reveal some of the magic that goes into making music videos.

ZANYBROS, a production team from South Korea, have worked on many of the most iconic K-pop music videos. Their work includes BAP’s “1004,” “Hurricane,” and “Coffee Shop,” VIXX’s “G.R.8.U” and “Voodoo Doll,” Girls’ Generation’s “I Got a Boy,” and many other hit videos.

BapMokja and Haeppy begin by taking us through the many positions and people needed to create a good video. This includes the director, director of photography, the art design team (who builds the sets), makeup, and wardrobe among any more. Afterwards, they outline the different filming styles and takes needed to put together a dynamic video; including the difference and necessities of wide shots versus close up shots and the secret to filming each group member’s personal scenes. Not only do we get to see group performance filming but drama scenes as well. BapMokja and Haeppy even provide some tips for fans who are interested in being an extra in a music video!
