'Half Life 3' Release Date Rumors: There is no official news regarding the future of the "Half-Life 3", but the rumors are still running strong. Marc Laidlaw has left Valve, and this made many fans to worry about the "Half-Life" franchise.

"Half-Life 2" was released 12 years ago, Valve released "Half-Life 2: Episode Two" nine years ago. "Half-Life 2: Episode Three" but it never materialized. Game developer Valve Corporation has been quiet "Half-Life 3". A Reddit user leaked the rumor that 'Half Life 3'  is set for release for this year. "Half Life 3" will finally be released after nine years.

"The product may release this year, the biggest factor that I've heard is marketability," an anonymous user wrote.

"A moderator of that sub confirmed that the user had sent proof of their legitimacy. At around 4:30 PM EST, the thread was removed because Valve apparently contacted the mod and asked him to remove it."

Breathecast reported that a statement saying, "The whole thing was likely a hoax."

Laidlaw was involved in the creation of the previous games. He wrote the stories for the original "Half-Life" title.

Some reports claim that Valve might just cancel the development of "Half-Life 3" altogether..

Valve approved the launch of a fan-made game inspired by "Half-Life 3" made by 25-year-old indie developer Richard Seabrook

The game, titled "Prospekt," will go live on Steam on Feb. 11. The new Half-life fan-made game was made using graphics and assets from the Half-life 2 game.

The stand-alone game is said to feature 13 levels. It uses the graphics and assets from "Half-Life 2" and is about as long.

Seabrook said he left his old role and begun this as a way to apply for a job at Valve.

"Half Life 3" is expected to bring a much-improved game to all avid gamers.
