Ahead of the actual award ceremony, the 2016 Maxmovie named AOA's Seolhyun and EXO's D.O. as the "Rising Stars" of the year.

The new award celebrated artists who are expected to hit the big screen within the year 2016. As both Seolhyun and D.O. have received quite the recognition in the past with their participation in dramas, there is no denying that the two idols will make it to the big screen soon.

Along within this category were 11 actors, including the two idols, Ryu Jun-yeol, Park Bo-gum, Park So-dam, and others.

While in the process of selecting the "Rising Star Award", an open vote to the public was held along with a panel of columnists.

Award recipients will be personally be awarded on Feb. 25 at the Universal Arts Center in Seoul.
