Kylie Minogue confirmed she is engaged to Joshua Sasse with a notice in the Daily Telegraph.

'The engagement is announced between Joshua, so of the late Dominic Sasse and of Mary Heale (nee Macauley), of Herefordshire and Kylie, eldest daughter of Ronald and Carol Minogue, of Melborne, Australia," the notice reads.

Sasse met Minogue when she made a guest appearance in Gallavant, a musical comedy series in which he plays the lead role. Minogue and Sasse  have been dating for just six months. It's thought he may have popped the question at Christmas. Minogue sparked engagement rumors in January, after being photographed in London wearing a huge diamond ring.

"The couple recently spent the whole festive period skiing and hired a lodge for friends and family. It would have made a very romantic place for a proposal," an insider was quoted as saying by Yahoo News.

"Joshua recently told pals that he was ready to propose after finding the woman of his dreams and had planned the whole trip so no-one is shocked to see Kylie return back to London with a ring on her finger."

Reports stressed the age difference between the 47-year-old singer and her 28-year-old fiancé.  Sassa has been called Minogue's "toy boy".

Minogue shrugged the age gap during a radio station interview in Australia:

"I think the general consensus is, we kind of look right together. So even though on paper it might not look right, it just is right. He is an absolutely brilliant, brilliant guy. And even if I try and act cool and natural, it's written all over my face that I am very happy," she said.

Kylie's boyfriends have included model Andres Velencoso, actor Olivier Martinez and singers Jason Donovan and the late Michael Hutchence. Kylie previously told reporters she didn't know if she'd ever get married.

"I don't know if I'll be walking down the aisle one day. But I've never really seen it," Minogue has been quoted as saying.

Women's magazines dubbed Minogue UNLUCKY IN LOVE in block capitals.

"I have a love in my life and that's a beautiful thing. I'm on cloud nine most of the time," Kylie told Radio 4's Desert Island Discs last year.
