Apple MacBook Pro 2016 News: March 21 Launch For New MacBook Lineup Confirmed?

New reports have surfaced online about the new MacBook Pro 2016 to be launched in Apple's press event on March 21; although nothing is confirmed yet by the company, enthusiasts continue to hope that the next generation of MacBook Pro will, indeed, be part of the unveiling.

Websites like Breathecast and Lawyer Herald have already announced in their reports that the new MacBook Pro 2016 will be coming in the keynote press event of Apple set on March 21. In its report, Lawyer Herald said that the March 21 event will see the launching of Apple's new iPad Air 3 and the new iPhone 5Se. Although it also highlighted in the report that some analysts think that Apple will be holding a separate event for the launch of the new lineup of MacBook Pro.

Breathecast, on the other hand, said that three variants of MacBook will be introduced on March 21: the 12-inch MacBook, the 13-inch MacBook with retina display and the 15-inch variant with retina display. It added that the 13-inch variant will come with three options for its internal storage: 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. It will also have a 2.7 to 2.9 dual core Intel Core i5 processor. It also features an 8 GB 1866MHz LPDDR3 memory, Intel Iris Graphics 6100, a built-in battery that can last up to 10 hours and a Force Touch trackpad.

The 15-inch variant with retina display, accordingly, will have two options for its internal storage: 256 GB or 512 GB. It will feature 2.2 GHz to 2.5 GHz processor, a 16 GB 1600MHz, Turbo Boost of up to 3.4GHz, a built-in battery that can last up to 9 hours and a Force Touch trackpad.

Macworld, however, thinks there's a 50/50 chance that Apple will launch the new MacBook Pro on March 21.

"Apple often launches new laptops at this time of the year, and the 12-inch MacBook is now a year old and due for an update. But we've been getting the sense lately that Apple is trying to play down expectations of upcoming Mac launches, and there aren't any hints in the invite to suggest laptop-related announcements," Macworld wrote.
