Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Release Date In 2013; Review Of Rumors, Specs

Are all of you smartphone-philes ready for the skinny on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3? This model is set to be the follow up to the hugely popular Galaxy Note 2 phablet, so here's the lowdown on what promises to be a bigger phone, for sure. Will it be better? On that, we'll have to wait and see.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has broken cover with a suspected release date of 2013, but when can we expect to see this phablet emerge?

According to Knowyourmobile, Samsung has said it is switching focus at the beginning of 2013 to concentrate on its AMOLED displays - in small, medium and large formats. Moving its staff away from LCD and onto AMOLED development could mean it will be ready for production much sooner than previous rumours.

Knowyourmobile.com thinks a third quarter 2013 release could be in the cards - slightly later than its 2012 Galaxy Note August release date, but developing a 6.3-inch display has to be time-consuming.

As of early March 2013, the current rumor, which allegedly comes straight from the mouth of a Samsung 'official', says that the Korean phone-maker will launch the Galaxy Note 3 in 'the latter half of the year'. It's worth mentioning that the Galaxy Note 2 emerged at IFA 2012. The annual show takes place in September, which falls in-line neatly with that latter half of 2013 rumor.

The company's smartphones, such as the Galaxy S3 and previous Note models, have been criticized in the past for an unimpressive look and feel. Samsung normally uses a plastic frame, while other companies such as Apple and HTC incorporate more durable materials into their devices. The recent release of the HTC One has reportedly sparked Samsung's interest in redesigning the Note 3's exterior, according to You Mobile. The handset features a stunning design that rivals the Korean giant's current flagship the Galaxy S4, which closely resembles the Galaxy S3.

Pricing on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is yet to even be discussed, but many people in the know think it will probably be more expensive than the Galaxy Note 2. After all, the screen is much larger.
