George R.R. Martin’s ‘Winds Of Winter’ Release Date To Reveal Key Details About Jon Snow’s Mother?

George R.R. Martin's "Winds of Winter" release date may uncover key details about Jon Snow's mother.

Day Herald reported that George R.R. Martin's "Winds of Winter" release date could be set to answer the fate of Jon Snow. Although he was implied to have died in "Game of Thrones" season 5, rumors are still rampant that he is still alive or will be brought back to life in season 6.

The "Song of Ice and Fire" author has also teased the fact that Jon Snow will recover from the brutal attack on him by the Night's Watch.

According to JobsNHire, George R.R. Martin has revealed a major plot twist for the "Winds of Winter." Book 6 of his fantasy novel series will have a "pivotal plot development" which will not be shown in "Game of Thrones."

George R.R. Martin confirmed that "Winds of Winter" will have a major plot twist involving a character who has already been killed off in "Game of Thrones."

"I have decided to do it. Will you know it? I don't know," Martin said to IGN. "It is fairly obvious because it is something that involves a couple of characters, one of which is dead on the show, and not dead in the books."

"So the show can't do it, unfortunately, because they have killed someone I have not killed."

This sparked rumors that Jon Snow will be the one that George R.R. Martin talked about for the "Winds of Winter" plot. However, there are still about 15 other characters who are dead in "Game of Thrones" but not in the book series.

Day Herald added that George R.R. Martin's "Winds of Winter" release date may shed some light on the identity of Jon Snow's mother.

YHM noted that the "Winds of Winter" plot twist may involve The Reeds. Apparently, George R.R. Martin's "Winds of Winter" may focus on Jojen Reed and his family. The highly-anticipated book may reveal the story of Stannis Baratheon and Jeyne Westerling as well.
