'Dota 2' ESL One Frankfurt European Open Qualifiers Announced!

The European open qualifier's registration for the upcoming ESL One Frankfurt 2016 "Dota 2" tournament is now ongoing. The registration started last Mar. 25 and the online tournament will begin on Apr. 2, 2:00 p.m. CEST.

Another event, the upcoming ESL One Manila 2016 LAN "Dota 2" tournament, will start on Apr. 22 and ends on Apr. 24. This event will feature a single elimination format which will take place at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.

The Manila LAN tournament is not yet over but the plans for the Frankfurt event are now fully on-going. ESL took to Twitter to announce the registration for the "Dota 2" ESL One Frankfurt 2016 open qualifiers last Mar. 25.

The "Dota 2" ESL One Frankfurt 2016 open qualifier will follow the single elimination format, best of one until the semis, and best of three on the Semi-finals and Finals. On Apr. 2, the open qualifiers will commence and the last 3 teams that will be left standing will get a spot at the Main Qualifiers which will be played on Apr. 4.

The team on the left side gets to choose which side they will be playing while the opposite team chooses the drafting order. The check-in time for teams who registered for the ESL One Frankfurt 2016 open qualifier will be an hour (1:00 p.m. CEST) before the qualifiers start.

The ESL One Frankfurt 2016 "Dota 2" LAN tournament is scheduled on Jun. 18 and 19 which will be held at the Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt, Germany. A $250,000 base prize pool, which increases for every ticket and treasure that will be bought by fans, awaits all the teams. They will have to fight their way into getting a bigger share of the prize pool.

Last year's champion was Team Secret which amassed $118, 481 USD, 40% of the total prize pool. Evil Geniuses came in second and gained $59, 241 USD which was 20% of the prize pool.
