Fans have yet to discover the true identity of "Suicide Squad's" Joker played by Jared Leto but a theory circulating around the Web strongly suggest that the iconic villain is none other than the trusted sidekick of Batman, Robin.

According to a theory written by Radio Times, the speculations saying that the real identity of Joker is Robin the Boy Wonder started from what fans had observed from the Robin costume (vandalized with the words, "HAHAHA Joke's on you Batman") that was displayed in Batman's Cave in one of the trailers.

As observed by fans, the punctured wounds on Robin's costume corresponds to the same area in Joker's shoulders where scars are found (seen in one of the official images of Jared Leto as Joker).

The theory says that in one of their adventures, Robin may have turned mad against Batman and now is determined to get back at his former partner.

"Could Robin, rather than having been killed by the Joker (as happened to Jason Todd, the second of Batman's sidekicks in a 1988 comic) actually have BECOME the Joker?" Radio Times wrote. "And could the 'J' tattoo under Joker's eye (and the flash of feathers on his right arm) be a nod towards his past life as Robin?"

"Perhaps the movie universe Robin was still beaten up by the Joker (explaining the wounds) and in his trauma took on his identity, maybe after Batman killed the original? Or maybe he's the one and only Joker, having falling into the vat of chemicals traditionally associated with the character's origin after being shot or otherwise injured in his Robin costume?" the report said further.

Furthermore, Redditors have picked up clues from the screening of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," which according to them, further justifies that Robin is, indeed, the Joker. One of the things they point out is Bruce Wayne's burnt-out mansion and said that no one can be able to do such but someone who knew it from the inside, like Robin.

Another one is the line told by Bruce Wayne to Alfred which goes, "Twenty years in Gotham. How many good guys are left? How many stayed that way?" The statement, according to them, expressed Batman's desperation and frustration that may have included Robin turning against him.
