Sakura-Con got over between Mar 25-27, 2016 in Washington Convention Center, Seattle, Washington, USA and the fans got a chance to interact with Reki Kawahara, the original creator of ''Sword Art Online.'' There was ''Sword Art Online'' movie special event too and the fans had a great time.

The details about the upcoming movie were unveiled. The entire weekend had several panels which included ''Aniplex of America Industry Panel,'' ''Reki Kawahara & Acec Pabel.'' Crunchyroll captured many aspects of this event which was organised during the Easter long weekend. The 19th annual event was a grand success and the fans are now waiting for more updates regarding the plot, cast, spoilers of the movie ''Sword Art Online.''

''The yearly event ended with great success, and fans went home filled with so much fun. There were a handful of surprises which included the revelation of "Sword Art Online The Movie -Ordinal Scale" visuals'' mentioned thebitbag.

Now the fans are waiting for the release of the movie ''Sword Art Online'' as it is announced that Kawahara is creating a new storyline for the movie and it will not the same as the TV anime series.

Crossmap reported that the tentative release date of the movie is Jul. 23, 2016. The plot of the movie is completely kept under cover and the stars who will lend their voice for the characters too is partially released. However, Animenewsnetwork relvelaed that the title of the movie will be ''Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale'' and it is expected to open in Japan in 2017. So until we get a clarification for A-1 pictures, the makers of this movie, we will not know the exact release date.

The ''Dengeki Bunko Haru'' event which was conducted on Mar.13, 2016 (Sunday) revealed more details about the upcoming movie. ''The event also confirmed that Yoshitsugu Matsuoka will return to play Kirito, and Haruka Tomatsu will return to play Asuna. Yuki Kajiura will return to compose the film's soundtrack. The event also revealed a new visual (below) and character designs, both drawn by abec.''
