''Star Wars: Episode VIII,'' is the eighth instalment of the Star Wars saga will open in cinemas on Dec 15, 2017. The speculation of the reprise of the role of  Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader continues.

This upcoming American epic space opera film is being directed by Rian Johnson, and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures will distribute the film worldwide. ''Star Wars: Episode VII- The Force Awakens'' which was released in 2015 was the first instalment in this trilogy and ''Star Wars: Episode VIII'' will be the second instalment.

The official website of Star Wars and EW talked about the beginning of principal photography on Feb. 10, 2016. Evening Standard and Comic book had confirmed the cast of ''Star Wars: Episode VIII'' in Nov. and Dec. 2015.
