Galaxy Note 6 Release Date Scheduled Earlier? Phablet May Have 8 GB RAM

There are rumors that the Galaxy Note 6 release date may be coming earlier due to the success of the Samsung Galaxy S7. The device will reportedly arrive this summer.

According to Bloomberg, Samsung seems to be trying out a new strategy for the success of its Galaxy S7 phone. The South Korean tech giant appears to be releasing their devices sooner and with a cheaper price.

The company's sales are expected to triple the sales gained by the S6 models at this time last year. This year's lineup is believed to reach 9 million units during their first month on the market.

"With the high-end smartphone market largely stagnated, the issue is no longer about what 'Wow' features the new phone has," Daishin Securities Co. analyst Claire Kim said. "Rather, it's about who can bring out the phone quicker."

Moreover, it seems that the new models are helping the company regain the Chinese customers whom it lost to rivals such as Huawei, Lenovo and Xiaomi.

"Galaxy S7 series should be able to bump up the market share a bit in March as it is being received fairly positively across the world and China," Neil Shah, research director at Counterpoint Technology Market Research Ltd. stated.

The Galaxy S7 sales are said to be "extremely encouraging." As a result, the Galaxy Note 6 release date is expected to come about a month or two earlier before the Apple iPhone 7 in order to take advantage of that window of opportunity.

There are rumors that the Galaxy Note 6 specs may be powered by a 64-bit Kryo 2.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor with Adreno 530 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM. However, SamMobile noted that it may be impossible since no new Exynos processor has been announced.

It is highly likely that Samsung may continue using the same Exynos chip in the Galaxy S7. The Galaxy Note 6 could run on Snapdragon 823, though.
