George R.R. Martin Confirms ‘Game Of Thrones’ Spin-Off? Algorithm Proves Jon Snow Is Alive?

George R.R. Martin has shared his thoughts on a possible "Game of Thrones" spin-off.

EW reported that the highly-acclaimed "Song of Ice and Fire" author is open to a "Game of Thrones" spin-off. The news comes after speculations that the hit HBO series may only have 13 episodes left after season six.

"There is certainly no lack of material," George R.R. Martin told the publication. "Every episode of 'The Naked City' - one of the television shows I watched as a kid - ended with a voice-over: 'There are eight million stories in the naked city. This has been one of them.'"

"There are eight million stories in Westeros as well ... and even more in Essos and the lands beyond. A whole world full of stories, waiting to be told... if indeed HBO is interested."

Martin added that an adaptation of his "Dunk & Egg" stories may be the best basis for a "Game of Thrones" spin-off. "Tales of Dunk and Egg" is a series of novellas by the author. It is set in the same world as "GoT" but takes place about 90 years earlier, before Tyrion, Daenerys and Arya.

The stories follow Ser Duncan the Tall, who would become a member of the Kingsguard, as well as his squire Egg, who would become King Aegon V Targaryen of Westeros.

"Each of the novellas could easily be done as a two-hour stand-alone movie for television; that would probably be the ideal way to do them, rather than as an ongoing weekly series," the author noted. "'The Hedge Knight' & and its sequels are lighter [in tone] than 'A Song of Ice and Fire,' more in the realm of action/adventure."

Meanwhile, CNET reported that a project named "A Song of Ice and Data" statistically compares the characters in "Game of Thrones" to find out who will die next. Apparently, Jon Snow only has an 11 percent chance of dying.

This may mean that fans may get to see Kit Harington's character in the upcoming "GoT" season 6 this Apr. 24.
