''Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma'' is a Japanese shōnen manga series which was first printed on Aug. 5, 2014. The writer of this Manga series is Yūto Tsukuda.

The first season was aired between Apr. 3, 2015 - Sep. 25, 2015 on TBS, MBS, CBC, BS-TBS, Animax and the English network which aired it was Anime Network in North America.  Crunchyroll began streaming the anime on Apr. 3, 2015 and the second season will be aired from Jul. 2016.

The anime's main character is Yukihira Soma's taste buds have been quite sharp and he has been trying out various dishes for a long time. ''Soma likes to experiment with food. He explores every ingredient on the menu and tweaks it from time to time. His father challenged him to go to a culinary academy to learn more about cooking. His father also told him that he should not lose to anyone if he still loses to him'' stated the article.

Soma joins the culinary academy too and immediately becomes a part of Shokugeki or cooking duels. Fellow students and judges solve those disputes and Soma finds a place for himself there as this is something which he loves doing.

International Business Times too talked about this popular TV series' season 2. ''The next season of popular anime series "Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma" has been officially announced and will be titled "Food Wars: Shokugeki no soma - The Second Plate."
