‘Sword Art Online’ Movie Update Disclosed At Dengeki Bunko Spring Festival 2016: Release Date, Cast, Plot, Spoilers Revealed

''Sword Art Online'' is a franchise which has been earning a lot of moola for its makers. The recent success of Sakura Con also talks about the same. The recent Dengeki Bunko Spring Festival 2016 too revealed a lot of details about this upcoming movie.

The official website revealed details about the upcoming movie during the Dengeki Bunko Spring Festival 2016 which was held on Mar. 13, 2016. The name of the movie will be ''Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale.'' ''To start things off, emcee Kazuma Miki (Dengeki Bunko Editing Dept.) and Rina Hidaka (Silica) took the stage. They were later joined onstage by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Kirito), original creator Reki Kawahara, and staff member Shingo Adachi (Character Design), who spoke at length about the upcoming film'' the official website revealed.

''This was the first event since the 2015 Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival featuring cast members, animation staff members, and the original creator, all onstage at the same time. They were greeted by the audience with raucous cheers and applause'' the article further quoted.

So there is a lot of excitement about this upcoming movie and the plot and cast is getting formalised. Haruka Tomatsu will play the role of Asuna and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka will play the role of Kirito. ''When Mr. Miki announced, "Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale will open in 2017," the audience erupted in even more cheers. That was when Ms. Hidaka asked, "This Ordinal Scale in the subtitle...could that be a new game?" Mr. Miki replied, "Perceptive of you. I'm impressed that you caught that. Well, that's exactly why I asked you to be the emcee today."

Recently the music collection ''Moon and Shadow'' was launched and the fans loved it. There is a lot of speculation regarding the release date of the season 3 of ''Sword Art Online'' and YHM confirmed that ''the plot of "Sword Art Online" will be based on the light novel's latest arc, "Alicization". As per the report from Anime News Network, producer Shinichiro Kashiwada expressed his desire to see both Kirito and Asuna in the new series too.''

In the Anime series, Kiroto is up for a new job. ''Kirigaya Kazuto (Kirito) was offered a job at a private enterprise, named Rath. The job was to test out a 4th generation experimental FullDive machine, called the "Soul Translator." The project is future dated on June 26, 2026 and will conclude in August 2026'' another article of YHM clarified.

It was also speculated that in the anime series, Kirito and Asuna will not tie the knot. ''Inquisitr reported that ''Sword Art Online: Alicization'' light novels have a lot of story content written by Reki Kawahara. It is even possible to make ''Sword Art Online Season 4'' reported the article.

Sakura Con was held between Mar. 25-27, 2016 at Washington State Convention Center and the fans got a chance to interact with the original creator Reki Kawahara. ''Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization'' the video game for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita will be launched in 2016. ''IBM Japan is currently leading this project, with assistance from Bandai Namco, Aniplex and Kadokawa'' clarified an article on Forbes.
