CNBLUE's Lee Jung Shin has been cast on an upcoming KBS drama 'Sword and Flower' which will air on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

FNC Entertainment announced the news about his new role on May 9.

'Sword and Flower' is a period melodrama which will weave in vengeance and love in the ancient regime of Korea. Lee Jung Shin will be the nation's top swordsman who is full of charisma and masculinity but a hopeless romantic for the princess he is ordered to protect. Guarding her life as his own, he will shadow the princess of the nation. He is expected to be involved in a love triangle surrounding the princess.

Lee Jung Shin made his debut as an actor in the successful daily drama 'My Daughter Seo Young' which ended in March. He was praised for his well-balanced acting with a wide range of emotional expressions and dubbed the 'nation's son' in reference to his popularity among the female viewers in their forties and fifties.

The new drama 'Sword and Flower' is set to premiere in July.
