''Star Wars: Episode VIII'' is all set to open in cinemas on Dec 15, 2017. The fans of Hayden Christensen were unhappy to know that he might not reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader in the eighth instalment. Mark Hamill joins the cast as Luke Skywalker.

The official website confirmed that the filming for this much awaited movie started in Feb. 2016 in Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom. ''Rey took her first steps into a larger world in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and will continue her epic journey with Finn, Poe, and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the continuing Star Wars saga, Star Wars: Episode VIII, which began principal photography at Pinewood Studios in London on February 15, 2016'' is what the article confirmed.

Irishexaminer confirmed that Mark Hamill will be cast as Luke Skywalker in the movie. The star war fans know that Luke Skywalker is a powerful Jedi Master and Rian Johnson the director found him fit for this role.  Luke Skywalker has been in self-imposed exile on the planet Ahch-To and this eighth instalment will unfurl the new drama. Hamill was first cast as Luke Skywalker in the 1977 saga ''Star Wars.''

The article also reported that the bad weather has affected the filming of the movie. ''It is the fastest selling item in gift shops in South Kerry, but yesterday the 'Skellig Wars' T-shirts were the only evidence the force had returned'' is what the article talks about the popularity of the ''Star Wars'' franchise.

Some scenes, which required shooting at Skellig Michael in Ireland were shot during the pre-production phase of the movie. They were shot in Sep. 2015. ''Weather conditions and sea swells dictated that Skellig Michael was not going to be accessible by boat for the film crew hoping to begin shooting Star Wars Episode VIII yesterday, with all filming postponed until today'' is what the article mentioned about the delay in shooting in 2015.
