BLACKPINK Bags October Issue of Popular Singapore Magazine, TEENAGE

It has only been two months since the debut of YG's all new girl group BLACK PINK but the world is still feeling the tremors of the aftershock. It would seem that the girls of the rookie group are on a roll after bagging another international magazine cover.

BLACKPINK is currently dominating the Kpop scene and they are not planning to stop the momentum they are on as they prepare for another great comeback this October. After a wonderful debut with hit singles like Boombayah and Whistle, BLACKPINK joins the roster of Kpop acts (Psy, Bigbang, 2NE1, EXO, CL, G-Dragon and Taeyang) to hit no. 1 on Billboard's World Digital Songs Chart.

Not only that, the 4-member girl group has also been featured by Entertainment Weekly's 8 Hot Under the Radar Singles from Emerging Artists You Need to Hear Now and in Rolling Stone's 10 New Artists You Need to Know.

This time Jenny, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa are all featured in the October issue of Singapore's popular youth magazine, TEENAGE. Rising to popularity in such a short time is a testament that not only is BLACKPINK popular in South Korea right now. They are also quickly conquering the international scene, especially the neighboring countries around S. Korea.

With their feature on the popular magazine also comes the question of whether or not they are the new 2NE1. It can be said that 2016 hasn't all been kind to Kpop fans around the world.

BLACKPINK's debut, however, was a pleasant surprise and coming from YG Entertainment, one of the so-called Big Three talent agencies of South Korea, people can only expect great things to come from this fresh girl group.

Like most Kpop idol groups, the girls of YG's newest idol group underwent rigorous training lasting for a few years before their debut. However, that didn't stop YG Entertainment from teasing the public with the girl group over the years.

Mixing rap, melodic singing and exotic beats, the same elements that paved the rise of 2NE1 and Bigbang, comes a new breed of YG-style music in the form of BLACKPINK. With so many girl groups in South Korea today, the girl group is definitely the one to watch out for.

Currently, BLACKPINK has temporarily halted their outdoor activity schedule as they focus entirely on their music and their comeback.
