BLACKPINK confirms appearance on 'Weekly Idol' + second comeback track teasers

YG Entertainment's rookie girl group BLACKPINK had just confirmed that they will be appearing on the variety show "Weekly Idol." Ever since their debut early this year, the girls have never appeared on a variety show before except for music shows.

It should be noted that even with little promotions and fewer guest appearances, BLACKPINK still managed to make a good debut amongst all the other emerging artists. Regardless, it's a pretty great deal for artists to get all the exposure they can get especially from shows that garner significant views like Weekly Idol. But what's interesting is the fact that it's so rare for YG Family artists to guest on the show because their artists rarely do variety shows.

For the fans of BLACKPINK, their guest appearance on Weekly Idol gives not only incredible exposure to the girl group but it also presents the chance for fans to get to know their idols better. According to Officially Kmusic, this may also be the first time that people get to see them on live television if you don't count the times they appeared on music shows.  The girls will be appearing on Weekly Idol on November 1 and on that episode, you can expect to see their unique personalities and their incredible talent.

Along with the announcement of their guest appearance on Weekly Idol, the girls have also released a few image teasers for their comeback single "Playing with Fire." Not long after, they also released image teasers for their second comeback single "Stay," as reported by Soompi. Both tracks will be featured in their second single album "Square Two."

The girls had a hugely successful debut with their single album "Square One" back on August 8. In fact, they became the fastest girl group to hit number one on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart and became one of only three Korean artists to do so following BIGBANG and Psy, both of which are also under YG Entertainment.

BLACKPINK immediately caught the attention of Billboard and even the Entertainment Weekly. Because of this, the expectations will be high for their comeback album "Square Two."
