Former member of 4Minute Jiyoon talks about relationship with other former 4Minute members. She just released the first solo album "Day and Night" with single "I Do" on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

The lead rapper of 4Minute whose real name is Jeon Ji-Yoon shared her story with Yonhap News Agency and talks about her new album “Day and Night.” She opened up about the disbandment of the group and her view on the matter.

"We had a long discussion with the bandmates before the dissolution and we really concerned about our career," she said. "We did not even think about disbandment until the last minute.”

In order to promote her album, Jeon Ji-Yoon who takes the stage name Jenyer for her solo performance will hold a meet and greet with fans in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam area, Seoul as reported by YTN. The meet and greet will be held on Saturday.

4Minute was dissolved in June this year. The members and their agency Cube Entertainment failed to reach agreement regarding the contract renewal between the individual members. 4Minute is one of the girl groups who are disbanded after seven years, similar to others such as Rainbow and KARA. Another girl groups who are also in question are 2NE1, MissA and Secret.

Passing the seventh year seem like a very difficult time for KPop girl groups, as most of the girl groups were either disbanded or changed their concept after the seventh year. Two groups that remain exist after seven years are Wonder Girls and Girls Generation which were formed in 2007. Wonder Girls changed their concept to become girl band in 2015, while Girl’s Generation formed a sub-unit TTS before reaching their seventh years in 2012.

4Minute was formed in 2009 consist of former Wonder Girls Kim Hyun-Ah and four others, Nam Ji-Hyun, Heo Ga-Yoon, Jeon Ji-Yoon, and Kwon So-Hyun. Debuted in June 2009, the group had several hits such as "Hot Issue" and “Crazy” before their disbandment.
