Nam Joo-Hyuk shows his slender figure and acting skills in ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo’
After two drama projects this year, Nam Joo-Hyuk starred in the new MBC drama “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo” play alongside Lee Sung-Kyung in romantic comedy drama as a swimmer.
Nam and Lee are from the same agency that makes many people oppose the decision from the program director Oh Hyun-Jong, which deemed as controversial decision.
However Nam shows that he and Lee have a quality which make the program director Oh trusted them to play the leading roles. This will be the second time they play together after “Cheese in the Trap” where they both play the supporting character in the tvN drama which was adapted from the webtoon.
In the “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo” Nam’s character is a professional swimmer Jung Joon-Hyung who aimed his spot in the national team. Joon-Hyung and Lee’s character, weightlifter Bok-Joo develops a crush in the movie.
One of the interesting thing about being an agency-mate is the chemistry between Nam and Lee is easily built. In the first episode of the drama, the potential romance and a good bickering scene between them may have been resulted from practicing together often.
During the shooting, Lee posted photo in her social media showing Nam gave her a piggyback ride as quoted by KPop Herald. A few days later, Nam posted the image with the same pose of him giving Lee a piggyback ride as shown below:
“Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo” airs every Wednesday and Thursday on MBC at the prime time of 10:00 p.m. KST (GMT+9). It has to compete with the SBS highly anticipated drama “Legend of the Blue Sea” which airs also at the same time.
