Last November 10, fans of the legendary girl group Wonder Girls felt a wave of flashback as labelmate TWICE performed their 2008 hit single "So Hot" for MNet Countdown's 500th episode. The theme of the special stages were somehow having throwback performances as ASTRO also performed another hit from the past, SHINee's "Replay" on the same episode.

The nine girls of TWICE received a lot of good feedback from netizens and viewers as they saw the dance cover. Some of the positive comments included on the official YouTube video posted by MNet are "the girls really gave justice to their seniors" and "they unleashed two sides of TWICE: sexiness and cuteness". Some fans also cheered for their favorite TWICE members.

Aside from the good comments, the girls also received some criticisms such as that they already covered the said Wonder Girls' song from a performance before and it would have been better if they just covered another song of their senior. Some even said that they still prefer the original version.

TWICE did their best to cover the Wonder Girls' hit. As reported by Koreaboo, TWICE retained the original choreography but altered a little to match their head count as Wonder Girls is only composed of five members while TWICE have nine members. Their parts were also divided to give each TWICE member some spotlight.

Fans were also delighted to see that TWICE tried to reminisce the "So Hot" vibe not only through the original choreography but also with Wonder Girls' signature style in the song's music video which is none other than the iconic animal prints.
