It's a sad day for Winner and their fans after YG Entertainment announced the departure of the group's youngest member, Nam Taehyun. After previously taking a hiatus to recover at home, the artist has decided to officially leave the group and company. The decision comes after a long period of discussion where the conclusion was reached to cancel his exclusive contract and award him the much needed time to properly recover.

Below is a translation of part of the statement released by YG on November 25th:

"After lengthy discussions with Nam Tae Hyun it was judged that it would be difficult for him to continue activities through WINNER. His exclusive contract got cancelled on November 18. The remaining members made his health and recovery the priority and hoped for improvement, but it's difficult to say when he will recover and return because it's a psychological issue he has dealt with since he was young."

The decision has also been made to leave Winner as a 4 member group, rather than add in a new member. YG concluded the statement, asking fans to continue supporting the remaining Winner members, as well as Taehyun as he continues onto his path.
